Tupac Estate Suing Drake for AI Diss

Tupac Shakur’s estate has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Drake for using AI-generated vocals of the late MC in his Kendrick Lamar diss track. That sentence is full of puzzling behavior, so we’re back with a puzzling Consequence Crossword.

I’m going through some housekeeping around crossword scheduling next, so feel free to scroll past this to play “What Drake hoped Tupac’s estate would say?” below.

Here’s the update: The more challenging Thursday puzzle is getting rebranded as the weekend puzzle. It’s also ‘officially’ shifting to Sundays, but like a Verified Fan pre-sale, it will be unofficially available on Fridays to Consequence Daily newsletter subscribers (free here) and anyone who knows how to find the crossword archive (it’s easy to find; here it is again).

We’re doing this for a couple of reasons: 1) The crossword is still kind of new, and we’re not convinced we got the release cadence right on the first try; 2) On social media, people seem to mostly find the puzzles on the weekends, but at the same time 3) We’re trying not to disturb those of you who were already completing the Thursday puzzle on Thursdays — you all seem to either subscribe to the newsletter or search the archive, for the most part — and after all, Friday isn’t that much later. Finally, 4) This schedule should give me a better chance to make the irregular bonus puzzles, which gets us one step closer to three crosswords a week.

And just to be clear, the Tuesday mini-crosswords are still staying on Tuesdays, and you can check back this Friday for the new weekend puzzle, “Phish Food,” a Phish-themed puzzle. Thanks to everyone who has made the Consequence Crossword part of your routine — you guys rock!
