“New Beginning Update” for ‘Ripout’ Introduces New Companion, New Enemies and More [Trailer]

Feardemic has teamed with Super Rare Games to bring a physical version of Blazing Bit Games’ Nightmare Reaper to the Nintendo Switch. Already available digitally, the physical version of Nightmare Reaper will be available for ordering on April 11 at 6pm GMT (10am PST/1pm EST) via the Super Rare Games webstore.

As you might expect, this limited physical release is indeed rare. Only 3000 copies will be made, so you’ll have to act fast next Thursday.

What do you get for your $45 USD? Along with having the throwback FPS on a physical cartridge, you also get reversible cover art for the case, interior artwork, a full-colour manual, an exclusive sticker, and a set of three trading cards. If you’re a sucker for cards, you can also get a booster pack (which itself is limited to 800).

Sporting an impressive array of 80 unique weapons and a crunching soundtrack by Andrew Hulshult, Nightmare Reaper is inspired by the classic 2.5D first-person shooters of the 90s, with elements of modern looter shooters and roguelites. The game puts you in the depths of a nightmare of your own making. In order to find your way out, you’ll have to use your arsenal to blow away demons.

Tons of enemies are crammed in open-ended levels full of random events and secrets, not to mention geysers of blood and treasure. Use said treasure to purchase tons of character upgrades and new abilities via minigames.

In addition to the Switch, Nightmare Reaper is also available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series. Check out our review for a refresher.
