Sean “Diddy” Combs’ homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by the US Department of Homeland Security on Monday (March 25th) as part of a federal sex trafficking investigation, as reported by Fox 11.
The raids occurred in the afternoon at Combs’ mansion in the Holmby Hills neighborhood and his residence in Miami. Video of the scene appeared to show his sons King and Justin in handcuffs.
Homeland Security expert Hal Kempfer joined Fox 11 and said the agency is likely looking into allegations that Combs had been drugging young women in multiple states. Kempfer added that Homeland Security is looking for evidence like laptops and flash drives that would link Combs to the allegations.
Rolling Stone also reported that four Jane Does and one John Doe have been interviewed by Southern District of New York investigators as part of an alleged sex trafficking and RICO case.
“Earlier today, Homeland Security Investigations New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners,” Homeland Security said in a statement. “We will provide further information as it becomes available,” the federal department said in a released statement.”
The sex trafficking investigation comes four months after former Bad Boy singer Cassie Ventura sued Diddy for rape, sex trafficking, and years of repeated physical abuse. Combs settled with Ventura one day after she filed the lawsuit.
One week later, two more women stepped forward with similar claims against Combs, with one alleging he drugged and sexually assaulted her. The other accused Combs and singer Aaron Hall of taking turns raping her and a friend in 1990, when she was just 16 years old.
In February, producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones filed yet another lawsuit against Combs accusing him of sexual assault and harassment.
Though Combs has denied wrongdoing in each case, he stepped down as chairman of his Revolt TV media company last year. In January, liquor company Diageo cut ties with Diddy in a settlement stipulating Combs would no longer be a joint owner of the tequila brand DeLeón or have a share in Cîroc vodka.
