Shocking news came out today that Wicked Tuna Captain Griffin has died in a boating accident. A few details about this have been revealed, but a lot of people didn’t realize he was from the reality show. His full name was Capt. Charlie “Griff” Griffin.
What Happened To Captain Griffin?
Captain Griffin was in the Outer Banks when his boat went missing on Sunday night. About 11:35 p.m. on Sunday it was revealed that two boaters were missing and didn’t make it back when they should have. The last time they had heard from them was about 6:15 p.m. The boat was finally found south of Oregon Inlet about 70 yards off shore in the break.
They found a deceased person and dog both at the scene where they found the boat. This was Captain Griffin. At this time, they still haven’t found the other person who was out on the boat. They are missing and are still being looked for right now. They will continue the search overnight for this other person, who hasn’t been revealed yet.
He was on Season 4 of Wicked Tuna for a few episodes. He was from the Outer Banks area.

Captain Griffin’s Facebook page shared that he had passed away today as well. They said:
“It is with the deepest sadness we report that Charlie Griffin and his beloved dog, Leila, have passed away in a boating accident today, March 4th. Please keep family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. We will forever remember Griff!
