Little People Big World teasers for Season 25 show Zach Roloff going under the knife for emergency surgery. What health condition does the TLC celeb have that required him to have the scary procedure?
Little People Big World: Scary Scenes Ahead For Zach Roloff In New Season
Little People Big World Season 25 premieres on February 20, and there is a lot of drama to dig into in upcoming scenes. Things are still tense between Zach Roloff and his dad over the Roloff Farms deal that went south. For Zach, he has even bigger things to worry about.
Little People Big World Season 25 teasers reveal that Zach Roloff is rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. There are points throughout that ordeal that Zach doesn’t believe he will make it through. The pain he experiences is beyond anything he has ever had to endure. Tori Roloff, Amy Roloff, and the rest of his family can do nothing but wait in upcoming scenes.
What Medical Condition Does TLC Celeb Have That Required Surgery?
Zach Roloff was born with achondroplasia. This is the most common form of dwarfism. Due to this, Zach has faced numerous medical issues since childhood. It was even worse for his dad, Matt Roloff. Matt said in Little People Big World scenes that technology has continued to improve. Where things are now is leaps and bounds ahead of where things were when Matt was growing up.
Zach Roloff had to go in for shunt revision surgery. A hollow tube is typically placed in the brain or spine. According to Johns Hopkins, this tube helps “drain cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another location in the body where it can be reabsorbed.”
For years, Zach Roloff struggled with debilitating migraines and nausea. It took him some time to eventually go in for the shunt revision. According to Matt and Amy Roloff, a shunt was put inside Zach’s head as a baby to help drain fluid. Since Zach is already in his 30s, it was well past due for him to get a new one.
More Medical Issues For Little People Big World Celeb
Things appear to have improved for Zach Roloff since he had his procedure done. That crisis may be under control now, but, Zach Roloff still deals with a lot of other issues as well. He previously found out that he also has degenerative disc disease, which leads to spinal stenosis.
Medical issues are going to be a thing for Zach for the rest of his life. Zach doesn’t let that stop him from doing the things he loves. He works the property he and Tori have in Battle Ground, Washington. Zach also took part in the US Soccer Annual General Meeting, which took place in Dallas earlier in February. He may be dealing with a lot, but Zach has also overcome a lot, and he continues to inspire many.
