Taylor Swift walked the red carpet in a sparkling custom Gucci gown at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday for the Golden Globes 2024 awards ceremony, and there’s no doubt that the star made the whole place shimmer.
Making her grand entrance just before showtime, Swift stunned in a sparkly green Gucci column dress, her hair cascading down over her shoulder in waves.
Swift is being honored with her fifth Globe nomination, this year in a brand-new category. She’s nominated in the awards’ new category honoring the year’s films for cinematic and box office achievement. Her Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film is in the crowded freshman category alongside fellow blockbusters Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible—Dead Reckoning Part One, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It’s her fifth nomination at the show, though her previous nods, all for best original song, failed to net her a Golden Globe. She was previously recognized in the best-original-song category for “Safe and Sound” from The Hunger Games (2012), “Sweeter Than Fiction” from One Chance (2013), “Beautiful Ghosts” from Cats (2019), and “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).
Swift’s Eras has grossed north of $250 million at the worldwide box office. By contrast, Barbie topped 2023’s worldwide box office list, raking in some $1.44 billion globally, and is trailed by category mates The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Oppenheimer, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in the second-through-fourth ranks, in that order. In fact, Eras has the lowest global box office of all the films in the category, though it’s also, notably, the highest-grossing concert film in US box office history, and the only film of that type in the inaugural class of the Globes category.
