After finally getting Resident Evil Village last month, Apple users will be getting Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake just in time for Christmas. The acclaimed remake will arrive for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad and Mac on December 20, with the “Separate Ways” DLC also being available on the same day.
Available now for pre-order on the App Store, Resident Evil 4 is being made possible on Apple devices thanks to Capcom’s RE ENGINE and Apple silicon, including the A17 Pro chip on iPhone 15 Pro models, and Macs with M-series chips, such as the new MacBook Pro with the M3 family of chips and supercharged iMac with M3. Resident Evil 4 supports Apple’s MetalFX upscaling, which allows it to deliver high-res imagery and “impressive performance and incredibly responsive gameplay across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.”
Players can try a portion of Resident Evil 4 with a free download before accessing the full game with a single purchase. Resident Evil 4 includes support for Universal Purchase and cross-progression between iPhone, iPad, and Mac, enabling players to enjoy the game at home or on-the-go and continue their save games across devices. The Apple version of Resident Evil 4 can be enjoyed with a variety of compatible controllers, includes keyboard and mouse support for Mac, and customizable touch controls for portable play on iPhone and iPad.
Resident Evil 4 (and the “Separate Ways” DLC) is out now on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, with the free VR Mode for Resident Evil 4 coming to PlayStation 5 this Winter.
