Jay Biz: Hip Hop’s Rising Superstar

Jay Biz: Hip Hop’s Rising Superstar

Hip hop is more than just music but a cultural movement that has influenced every facet of life from politics to fashion to dance and beyond. Complex metaphorical samples, rap lyrics, and collaborations with other musical genres emerged. Hip hop created high profile artists such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Nelly, Jay Z, Eminem and 50 Cent to named a few. Recent artists have arrived to hopefully continue the rhyme….including one such indie artist Jay Biz.

Jabari Banda whose stage name is Jay Biz is a Milwaukee based Rap artist, and actor. He is currently the founder and CEO of Zoom Productions music publishing label. He seeks to integrate his passion for rapping along with his love of acting. His two singles “Not The Same” and “No Hook” we’re released in 2022 and his EP “The Better Me” was produced by WavieBoi at Wavie Records LLC Music Recording Label in 2023 and can all be found on all major digital platforms.

Jay Biz is authentic. He is currently working on his second studio EP also produced by WavieBoi….I caught up with Jay Biz and we had a cool conversation regarding his music and his quickly rising career….

What inspired you to join the music industry?

Just being around it really. Watching family and friends. Just going through things and wanting to express myself with music..

Do you write your own rhymes? And what inspires them?

Yes. My inspiration comes from life occurences that my family and friends went through as well as myself. it’s a good way to talk about it.

What are the themes of your songs?

Pretty much life and romance I’m going to say.

Where do you hope to be in 5 years?

Hopefully by then I’ll be able to sign a record deal.

How long have you been making music?

I recently began to take it seriously, but I’ve been making rhymes and making songs since the age of 14. It was off and on…

Who were your top influences?

Lil Wayne…..

WavieBoi produces many of your songs…how did you two connect?

We actually grew up together.

If you could have your ultimate stage fantasy what would you hope to happen?

I’m not sure.

What regarding the music industry presents a challenge to you ?

I think just being discovered and being heard of. Getting to the right people and making the right connections and of course getting my music heard. If you don’t know the right people, it’s kind of hard and can be a real challenge.

Out of all your songs thus far which are you must proud of?

I’d say I wrote a song about my 5 year old daughter. It’s called “Message.” I’m a family man and my family means everything…..
