This Bubblegum Pink Zara Slip Dress Is Taking Over TikTok

Every so often, a Zara dress comes along that just about everyone wants to buy—and a few well-timed social media testimonials are to thank (or blame). In 2019, it was the universally flattering polka-dot dress than spawned thousands of purchases and a now-dormant, dedicated Instagram. Three years later, a new item is set to take over closets.

The latest Zara dress, appearing in TikTok try-on videos with millions of views, is the first dress’s aesthetic opposite. It’s not a minimal print in neutral tones, but a perky pink satin. Long sleeves and a conservative fit are replaced by spaghetti straps and a semi-open back. It’s just as affordable as its predecessor: $60, and still available in several sizes on zara.com.

The Zara slip dress hasn’t reached TikTok saturation on the level of the fan-favorite Revlon drying brush or Clinique’s black honey lipstick. But sightings are on the rise. Over the weekend, my For You page of dog training videos and fashion month recaps was interrupted by twenty-somethings unboxing the dress. BAZAAR.com associate editor Chelsey Sanchez can’t stop seeing it too: “Basically every time I log into TikTok, I get at least 3-4 videos on my For You page of girls trying it on,” she tells me.

When TikTok’s algorithm pushes this dress up in the app, it inspires women to shop. “Saw a TikTok and purchased immediately,” user @supercoolexploradora captioned her unboxing video, which has upwards of 789,000 views and 87,000 likes. User @inchargeofoutfits, whose first unboxing currently has more than 1.4 million views and 184,000 likes, called it “the most perfect pink dress.” She’s since made three more videos dedicated to the dress.

By the time people tear themselves away from TikTok’s endless scroll, they’re seeking out the dress for themselves: Google Shopping data shared with me shows that searches for “Zara pink slip dress” are up 120% this year.

TikTok trends come and go faster than retracted celebrity sightings on Deuxmoi, and the Zara dress’s moment may pass before you’re convinced to add to cart. “[Everyone] looks stunning in them, but I am so vulnerable to the TikTok micro-trend market that I’m forcing myself to wait a few weeks before committing to the purchase,” Sanchez agrees.

If you decide to order, you’ll have a slip dress at the ready for spring weddings, nights out, or just twirling in front of your ring light. In case it sells out before then? There are more slip dresses in magenta, fuchsia, and Barbie pink where the Zara slip came from.
