VR Mods for ‘Resident Evil 2’ and ‘Resident Evil 3’ Released

Back in June, the Code: Veronica Remake fan group dropped a demo for PC showing off the fan-made remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica. The group has now announced that the game will see the light of day later this year! Not only that, but we have a new trailer to go along with the announcement.

No specific date was announced for the game, although the game will be broken up into three chapters lasting about four hours each. Many of the elements that fans experienced with Capcom’s Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remake are being used for this fan game, such as the new dodge system.

Once the game is out the door, the group plans on introducing new game modes through a vote on their website. Best of all, the game will be totally free!

Code: Veronica isn’t the only game the group has in mind, as they’ve also been hard at work on the remake of the Resident Evil remake, for which they’ve also released a new trailer and announced that this too will see a 2022 release!

New to this remake of REmake will be the RPD, which you’ll be checking out prior to the incidents at the Spencer Mansion. You’ll also be making use of a flashlight to navigate the mansion’s darker areas. Once again, you’ll be making use of the dodge to avoid being attacked. You’ll also have to deal with ammo scarcity, so inventory management is crucial.

Lastly, as a bit of caution, the group does state that these projects are being done without Capcom’s involvement, and if Capcom comes down on them, then they’ll have to pull the plug on both projects. However, in the case of Daymare: 1998, Capcom was pretty cool with Invader Studios, and even included them in the RE2 remake credits. These two remakes aren’t quite the same thing, however. Fingers crossed!
