‘The Handover’: Timo Tjahjanto’s New Movie With Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill is a Christmas Story

Teased late last month, Timo Tjahjanto is teaming with Sinister and Doctor Strange filmmakers Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill on his next movie, and this week brings a bit of an update. For starters, the mysterious project now has a title: The Handover.

Additionally, we’ve learned, it’s “a Christmas story”!

“Filmmaking is an act of magical (& violent) wonder,” Tjahjanto notes on Instagram today, sharing the cover page for the script he’s currently writing alongside Derrickson and Cargill.

Tjahjanto recently tweeted that the movie is “Ultra violent, ultra absurd, ultra over the top & ultra heartwarming.” For now, plot details are completely under wraps. Stay tuned.

Timo Tjahjanto should already be a household name in the horror world, having co-directed the insanely gory Macabre and the super popular V/H/S/2 segment “Safe Haven”. He’s also behind Netflix’s action-packed The Night Comes for Us, as well as May the Devil Take You, Headshot, and Killers. And just wait until you see his segment in our upcoming V/H/S/94…

Timo is also attached to direct a remake of Train to Busan.
