[Trailer] “Aftershocks” Update Arriving Next Month For ‘The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners’

Remember Please? The short-but-sweet throwback horror title that got progressively weirder as you progressed? Developer Somewhat is back with another game, SPEK.TAKL – Banned Edition, which is due out August 18.

The game presents itself as a late-night television watching simulator, with “light puzzle elements”. There you are, spending the night in your new apartment, when you start to receive VHS tapes through your front door mail slot. Should you choose to watch them, they get progressively more disturbing. If you don’t, you can just sit watching TV. Of course, it’ll be hard to ignore that knocking at the door…

Did I mention that the game mixes influences from midnight movie creators such as Lynch and Cronenberg, with more personal experiences from its developers? Or the fact that this Banned Edition of the game is just that: banned from “PC gaming’s most popular platform”.

In fact, this new Banned Edition is similar to a Director’s Cut, and contains material that had to be cut from the original game. This includes an entirely new fourth ending in line with the themes of the game, featuring previously-unused music, with added quality-of-life improvements.

If all that’s got your attention, head on over to the game’s itch.io page to keep tabs on the game ahead of its release.
