Alex Rodriguez has been yachting around the Mediterranean for over a week, ostensibly celebrating his 46th birthday. The former New York Yankees infielder hit the coast of Saint-Tropez and threw parties for himself in Monaco and Ibiza. (Whether the proximity of his waterborne birthday celebration to a similar one enjoyed by former fiancée Jennifer Lopez was a coincidence remains a mystery.)
New pictures show the latest group of revelers on the A-Rod party boat, including CBS’s NFL sideline reporter, Melanie Collins. (As we are, sadly, not on this yacht, we cannot say precisely when she and others came aboard.) When the two were spotted in matching all-white outfits while going out for ice cream in Ibiza, a source told PEOPLE the two were “just friends.” However, the Daily Mail refers to Collins, who also appears on the Golf Channel, as Rodriguez’s “rumored flame.”
Where the truth lies on this spectrum is something only Plato (or Collins and Rodriguez) could ever answer. Until there are more concrete facts, we can only speculate. One thing we know for certain is that the most recent photos depict Collins in a bikini of the most cerulean blue, no doubt even more becoming against the waters near the Balearic Islands.
Also on the boat are former wide receiver Eric Decker and his wife, country singer Jessie James Decker.
Collins, whom we’ll call A-Rod’s “Schrödinger’s Date” for now, joined CBS Sports’s NFL coverage team in June 2018. At the Golf Channel, which NBC owns, she hosted the reality and competition shows Driver vs. Driver and Big Break. Previously, she worked at ESPN and Yahoo! Sports and reported on everything from the Stanley Cup playoffs and the NBA Draft to the FIFA World Cup and the Winter Olympics. In addition to broadcast journalism, she studied interior design and has two pit bulls named Nixon and Snoop.
