Kanye West Shows What It’s Like to Live Inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium

After his listening party there on Thursday, West shared an image of his living quarters in the stadium, where he’s continuing to work on his new album Donda.

Kanye West is giving the world a look at what it’s like to live inside Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

On Thursday, West held a listening party for his new album at the stadium, despite the fact that Donda—the forthcoming release named for his late mother—wasn’t yet complete. After the release date was moved from July 23 to August 6, a representative for the artist told the Associated Press on Tuesday that he’s living in the stadium as he continues work on the album. Mercedes-Benz Stadium is located near Morris Brown College, the HBCU where Donda West taught for nearly two decades.

On Tuesday night, West shared an image of his austere quarters, where he appears to be sleeping in a twin-sized bed next to a suitcase, several pairs of sneakers, a television, and a digital wall clock.

Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz Stadium appeared to embrace their newest tenant with open arms, changing its Twitter name to “DONDA Studio at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.” West has become a fixture at the stadium over the last week, even appearing among the fans at an Atlanta United soccer game on Saturday. A representative for the stadium confirmed to CNN that West has set up a studio inside the 71,000-capacity building. West relocating for an album release has some precedent: In 2018, his string of five album releases in five weeks emerged from the base he had set up in Wyoming.

From what could be heard from Donda so far, the album includes features from Jay-Z, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, Travis Scott, Pusha T, and Baby Keem, and addresses West’s family life after Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from the artist in February. West’s mother speaks in audio clips that played amid the album during the listening party.
