After almost six years of dating, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani made their love official over the weekend, tying the knot at an intimate ceremony held on their ranch in Oklahoma.
Ahead of the nuptials, the couple took both their families out to celebrate on Friday night, hosting a big dinner at Shelton’s Ole Red restaurant in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. According to an onlooker who spoke to People the pair “looked really happy together and definitely in love,” and everyone enjoyed a casual meal of burgers, fries, and tacos. That menu sounds a lot like what The Voice coach previously joked would be served at their wedding if Stefani entrusted him with planning their big day. “If I was picking our meal, it would just literally be everything fried,” Shelton told USA Today back in May. “French fries, chicken tenders, you know, all of that stuff. I think [Gwen] knows that it would be a pretty classless wedding if I was in control.”
But, thankfully, it’s Stefani who was put in charge of pulling off the elaborate affair, wearing two custom Vera Wang gowns that both featured special touches in tribute to her three sons with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale. The No Doubt singer’s first lily white silk georgette wedding gown featured a plunging, sweetheart neckline, cut away back, fitted bodice, and high-low hand tumbled tulle skirt. She also took some matrimonial inspiration from Hailey Bieber‘s wedding look, keeping her hair simple and pulled back underneath a white, chapel-length veil hand embroidered with the names of her children—Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo— in her preferred Olde English font. The boys were also a part of her reception dress, a strapless minidress with a ruffled tulle skirt, a shorter mesh veil, and cowboy-inspired white stiletto boots by Le Silla. The dress featured hand-sewn love birds on the bodice alongside three baby love birds representing their new family. Stefani shared the look on her Instagram account writing, “You need a party dress when you get to marry Blake Shelton.”
The couple wed in a small chapel built on the same Tishomingo property where they’ve also erected a brand new mansion. A tree-lined drive leads up to the stately home that sits on a hill next to a lake. The mansion features roman columns, a wraparound front porch, a balcony, second-floor deck, a grey roof, and dormer windows, as seen in pictures obtained by the New York Post. The home appears to be divided into three main sections with an additional semi-detached stone house, and the backyard includes a terraced garden, three covered patios, and a pool with a Baja shelf.
The two Voice co-stars also enlisted the help of their friend Carson Daly to serve as officiant for the ceremony. The Today Show anchor revealed on Tuesday’s episode, “I went to them months ago and said, ‘I think you guys should write your own vows. We shouldn’t just do the repeat after me.’ They were really reluctant to do that, but…it’s two of the best songwriters in the world, we want to hear your words!” He continued, “At the wedding, Gwen starts, and she wrote this, ‘Since I was a little girl…’ And she crushes, not a dry eye in the church. It was so perfect. I said to Blake when she was done, ‘Top that, buddy.’ And Blake starts by saying, ‘Gwen’s always giving me a hard time about not writing enough songs, so I wrote a song.’ Guitar comes in frame, stool, next thing you know, he wrote her a song, he sings her a song while he’s crying that he wrote specifically for her. … Not a dry eye in the house.” Overall, he said, “It was as elegant and refined and cool as Gwen is, and it was country and down-home and fun as Blake is. They just work. They’re an unlikely pair. They’re like if you paired delicious fried chicken with a glass of champagne. On paper, on the menu, it doesn’t seem to work, but it works. They’re comfort food with class, and everybody roots for that.”
