“It’s Not a Ripley Story”: Noah Hawley Teases FX’s Upcoming “Alien” Television Series

We may be halfway through 2021, but the horror genre has a lot more instore for audiences. From home invasions to the purge, to evil clown sightings, zombies, sharks, and so much more – here are the horror movies and shows to catch this month.

Relationships are a two-way street where couples need to work together to form a healthy relationship – though that may be a bit tough if one of you is dead. And it actually may be tougher if said dead spouse were to be handcuffed to the other. And it actually may be tougher if then said alive spouse was being followed by a home invader. That’s the sort of brutality you can find in Till Death – a home invasion flick starring Megan Fox – which lands in theatres and on VOD July 2nd

Based on the books of the same name written by acclaimed horror writer R.L. Stine, Fear Street makes its way onto Netflix. A group of teenagers find themselves terrorized by a slasher, but there is more than meets the eye. Make sure to not miss out on Fear Street in all of its THREE PARTS! You can catch the first installment on July 2nd, with part two releasing July 9th, and part three on July 16th.

Did you know there are five Purge movies now? One might even say… the Purge is Forever! The Forever Purge, coming to theatres July 2nd, takes place after the previous film (Election Year), in a world where the Purge has been abolished. While attempting to escape a drug cartel, a Mexican couple find themselves stranded on a Texas ranch where there are folks who look to keep the Purge alive. If the fifth installment is anything like the films before it, The Forever Purge is sure to include some commentary alongside a lot of blood.

‘Till Death’

Werewolves Within has been doing pretty well for itself at the box office, but if for some reason you haven’t been able to go to a theatre – the film arrives on Digital and VOD July 2nd! Based on the video game of the same name, Werewolves Within follows a group of residents from a small town who get trapped inside a local inn during a snowstorm. While things are rough outside, the group come to find out that a mysterious creature is among them (or perhaps… within?). This is a horror-comedy gem to not miss out on!

While some siblings may argue from time to time, Jesus and Jose Maria take things a little further. When their sister Magdalena comes to follow up on her share of a family inheritance, an “accident” leads her to being bedridden. Rather than take care of their sister though, the siblings have more terrifying things in mind. You can catch Rock, Paper and Scissors on Digital and On Demand July 6th.

Plot details surrounding Netflix’s A Classic Horror Story have been slim. What we do know at the time of this writing is that the film follows a group of strangers who find themselves stranded in the woods; there’s some eerie children’s music, an ominous house, and the promise of violent torture (per the trailer). That said, all secrets will be revealed come July 14th.

From John Wick to Atomic Blonde, we’ve had some rad assassin flicks in the last few years – and Gunpowder Milkshake looks to be really shaking things up! Sam, abandoned by her assassin mother as a child, has grown up to be a hitman. When plans on a mission go awry, Sam is left to team up with others in order to survive an all-out gang war. ‘Great White’

It’s summer so of course we need a shark movie! Great White is centered around a group of people who survive a plane accident, only to be stuck on a raft miles away from shore and – would you guess it – are surrounded by man-eating sharks. Talk about a rough trip! But if you’re like me and want to catch a new shark related horror flick, you can find Great White on VOD and in theatres July 16th.

Guess we’ll have to find out and see come July 20th when The Nest arrives.
