Beyoncé Makes a Rare Surprise Appearance at Todrick Hall’s Birthday Party

The pop star worked with the choreographer on her “Blow” music video.

Beyoncé is a difficult guest to get to RSVP in the affirmative whether you’re a fellow A-lister or even the Grammy Awards. So imagine Todrick Hall‘s surprise when the pop star sauntered into his birthday party unannounced on Monday night.

During the Los Angeles event thrown to commemorate the choreographer’s 36th birthday, YouTuber Young Ezee captured on their Instagram Stories the moment Queen Bey took everyone off guard, popping by to give a little performance in a gold, corseted leotard with a huge bow over the rear and matching metallic gold heels. Young Ezee captioned the video, “Not @Beyoncé showing up and showing out,” adding over a second clip, “Yo, Beyoncé killed it.” While the videos don’t show what songs she performed, they do capture Hall running up to her afterwards to give the singer a big hug before hugging her backup dancers as Beyoncé greeted the other party guests.

Hall and the pop star have been professional collaborators for years, perhaps best known for his work on the roller rink-themed music video “Blow.” In a 2013 MTV interview about the experience, Hall enthused, “It was just an amazing experience. She was awesome to work with and the video finally came out and it was the hardest secret in my life to keep. I wasn’t surprised because I knew it was happening, but I didn’t know when. It’s just awesome that the album has been so well-received.” He said that they bonded over their shared home state of Texas, adding, “She’s everything that you would dream that she is.”
