The Best Movies and TV Shows Coming to Netflix in March

As summer blockbuster season nears, and many states are still in some version of lockdown, Netflix is refreshing its docket of lighthearted features and bingeable docuseries. Chief among these offerings is Bad Trip, gross-out comedian Eric Andre’s new prank movie costarring Get Out’s Lil Rel Howery and Girls Trip’s Tiffany Haddish; Waffles + Mochi, a family-friend puppet show about food culture hosted by Michelle Obama and featuring Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat’s Samin Nosrat; and Operation Varsity Blues, which digs into the celebrity college-admissions scandal that put actor Felicity Huffman in jail.

What else is in the pipeline? Read on for more notable releases from Netflix in March.

Biggie: I Got a Story to Tell (March 1): Competing with HBO Max and Hulu’s steady stream of nonfiction content, Netflix is upping the ante post–Tiger King with March releases like Murder Among the Mormons and Last Chance U: Basketball. An intimate documentary about the Notorious B.I.G., featuring family interviews and rare footage, has been long overdue.

Training Day (March 1): Antoine Fuqua’s 2001 film, starring Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, made Washington the second Black actor to ever win in the best-actor category. It’s a crime-thriller classic that irresistibly stages the “bad cop” narrative amidst the ruthless war on drugs in low income neighborhoods. “Copaganda” all the same, but with stakes real enough to keep audiences guessing.

Two Weeks Notice (March 1): Since the premiere of HBO Max’s popular series The Undoing, self-deprecating heartthrob Hugh Grant has been back in the public eye. Netflix is cashing in on the moment by adding the 2002 rom-com Two Weeks Notice, starring Grant as an arrogant and needy real estate developer, and a reliably sharp-witted Sandra Bullock as his idealistic legal counsel who momentarily gives up her high-minded ideals for the financial security being an employee provides.
