They took walks with their dogs and drank endless cups of Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee. But sometimes things aren’t meant to last. According to a report in PEOPLE, Ben Affleck and Ana De Armas have concluded their romance.
The decision was Ana’s, according to the magazine’s unnamed source. She does not want to be in Los Angeles full-time, and he is committed to staying near the three children he shares with Jennifer Garner.
Another source described the break up as amicable, and there is “deep love and respect.”
The pair first got together in March 2020 while filming Deep Water, Adrian Lyne‘s forthcoming adaptation of a Patricia Highsmith novel. Watching their love bloom was one of the real pleasures of the pandemic year, starting with friendship necklaces, then participating in a viral kissing video. (Not the bad kind of viral, the good kind.)
The relationship fed off the energy of fan engagement, to a degree, with motorcycle selfies and the couple playfully erecting an enormous Ana de Armas cardboard cut-out to elude eager shutterbugs. And in September it was rumored that Ana was moving in to Ben’s $20 million “dad pad.”
