Ethan Hawke Will Play the Lead Villain in Marvel’s “Moon Knight” Series

Oscar Isaac is headed back into the world of Marvel with the upcoming Disney+ series “Moon Knight,” which is being developed by Jeremy Slater (“The Exorcist”). And THR brings us an exciting update tonight, the site reporting that Ethan Hawke has also signed on.

THR reports, “Hawke will play the series’ lead villain.” No word yet on precisely which Marvel villain Hawke will be playing in the series, but we figure you’ll enjoy speculating!

Mohamed Diab (Clash) is on board as director and showrunner, and The Hollywood Reporter brought us the word last week that Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (Resolution, Spring, V/H/S: Viral, The Endless, Synchronic) will also direct “several episodes”!

Moon Knight was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, introduced in Werewolf by Night #32 (August 1975). THR describes the Marvel character as “an ex-Marine turned mercenary whose multiple alter egos allow him to better fight crime.”

Moon Knight has to date never appeared in the world of live-action, and the Disney+ series is reportedly set to pave the way for the character to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Moon Knight has recently been voiced on TV by Diedrich Bader (Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six), Gideon Emery (“Avengers Assemble”) and Peter Giles (“Spider-Man”)
