Brad Pitt Stars in Miraval Rosé’s First-Ever Ad Campaign

Brad Pitt knows he’s his wine brand’s own best advertisement. The Oscar winner could probably sell just about anything to anyone, and now he’s putting some of that raw marketing talent to good use by making sure the masses know which bottle of rosé belongs to him.

For the first-ever ad campaign for Miraval Rosé—the brand produced by the French Riviera property Pitt co-owns with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie—the actor chose to repurpose a photo from his 2019 fashion shoot for GQ taken by Lachlan Bailey. In the black-and-white image, the movie star looks very relaxed, soaking up the sun in a pool lounge chair while wearing an orange sweater by The Elder Statesman, a Stock Vintage button-up and sweatpants, an Albertus Swanepoel bucket hat, and Jacques Marie Mage sunglasses. The “Spirit of the Riviera” ad is meant to mark the upcoming release of Miraval Rosé’s 2020 vintage which will hit shelves in America on February 1.

Pitt’s Provence estate has been producing rosé since 2012, when he and Jolie finalized their purchase of the 1200-acre property, but this is only the second time he’s used his own image to promote the brand. He previously shared a photo of himself in August with the label’s newest offering, a rosé champagne dubbed Fleur de Miraval. The actor told People of Miraval’s latest launch, “For me, champagne conjures up feelings of celebration, quality, prestige, and luxury. But rosé Champagne is still relatively unknown. Backed by our success with Miraval in Provence, I wanted us to try to create the defining brand of rosé Champagne, focusing all our efforts on just this one color.”

While there was speculation amid Pitt and Jolie’s ongoing divorce that the dissolution of their marriage would lead them to put the property up for sale and abandoned the business, a source told People that they both remain committed to the endeavor and see it as a smart investment for the future for their six children.
