Tensions are higher than they are in Congress in the Porkchop Loading Dock in a sneak preview of episode two of season 13 RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In the clip, it shows RuPaul keeping up the hotly-anticipated season’s series of twists and turns after the premiere saw contestants immediately have to lip-sync for their lives.

Each queen was paired with another for a head-to-head lip sync battle on the main stage.

It ended with Tina Burner, Kandy Muse, Olivia Lux, Gottmik and Symone all crowned winners and making it back to the Werk Room. Leaving the fates of Rose, Utica Queen, Denali, Tamisha Iman, Kahmora Hall, Elliott with the 2 T’s and Joey Jay unknown.

Well, kind of. The contestants aren’t all actually facing the chop and have to vote among themselves who should go home – even though none have seen the others’ lip syncs – according to the preview.

After the mess of the US presidential elections, another vote is just what we needed.

The video begins with RuPaul rather menacingly addressing the queens over an overhead speaker, saying that they all have a chance to “return to the competition. But first, you must give one of your fellow queens the chop.”

The queens, their faces stunned, all provide the viewer with some much-needed exposition as they relay what the rules for the task are, noting that only after they have all voted by dropping their lipsticks into the ballot box will they have a chance to return.

“We have to vote someone off,” comments Jay in the clip. “This is a competition. This is what we signed up for. Alright, b*****s, s**t is about to go down.

“If we’re going off of first impressions, I don’t know you, sis!” she added, commenting on Elliott’s performance. “But, where’s the look? I don’t see a wow factor.”

Squabbles ensue, as Denali comments on Jay’s entrance look “not a fan of chicken feathers” before dropping her lipstick into the container.

That’s one vote down. While the clip doesn’t give it all away, it does show that Hall votes against Utica – but RuPaul later reveals that the votes were a tie.

The full episode airs on VH1 Friday (8 January).
