Cardi B’s Husband Offset Livestreams Interaction With Beverly Hills Police

Offset, member of the rap group Migos and husband to Cardi B., livestreamed an encounter with Beverly Hills police on Saturday. He was cuffed and briefly detained, while Marcelo Almanzar, Cardi’s cousin, was arrested and remained in jail as of Sunday morning.

The charges for Almanzar are carrying a concealed weapon and carrying a loaded firearm in public.

The incident springs from a call to police from the site of a Trump rally at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard and Beverly Drive in Beverly Hills. A demonstrator contacted the police saying someone pointed a gun at him from a passing car. Police later approached Offset (born Kiari Kendrell Cephus) who then began streaming when they told him to exit his vehicle.

The rapper initially refused, saying “you’ve got guns out” and kept his hands on the steering wheel. “You know who I am? Offset from the Migos,” he added.

He also claimed that the police just witnessed his car getting “beat up with a flag.”

Cardi B. was on the scene, but appears to have been in a separate vehicle from Offset. She posted a video to her Instagram expressing unease at all the Donald Trump supporters.

The Beverly Hills Police Department issued a statement via Twitter that at no time was Offset arrested, but that bail for the 20-year-old Almanzar was set at $35,000.
