The trouble with the Trump administration, beyond the white supremacy, moral bankruptcy, pathological lies, utter incompetence, assault on science, rank hypocrisy, idiot children, and mass murder, is that oftentimes it’s beyond parody. For instance, we probably could have guessed that Donald Trump would try to claim that contracting COVID-19 somehow made him smart and tough, but it would just be too much to turn on the TV and see his campaign spokeswoman argue that Joe Biden isn’t qualified to be president because he’s remained coronavirus-free. And yet!
Yes, that’s a member of the Trump campaign trying to make the case that while two thirds of Americans believe the president handled his own case of COVID-19 irresponsibly and put those around him at risk—like the members of the White House staff who are dropping like flies—getting the disease through total fault of his own is actually a reason to reelect him. And that Biden, what with his masks and social distancing and appreciation for science and regard for human life, doesn’t have what it takes to run the country. “Those firsthand experiences”—of getting COVID-19 through sheer stupidity—“Joe Biden, he doesn’t have those,” is the argument the campaign is literally now making.
With that kind of logic, it’s presumably only a matter of time until Trump or one of his surrogates tells voters Biden has no place in the White House because he doesn‘t have experience:
-
Being impeached
-
Musing about dating his daughter
-
Paying off a porn star to keep quiet about an alleged affair
-
Being accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women (and calling them liars and not his “type”)
-
Watching 19 hours of TV a day
The choice is clear, people!

Senator from Georgia thinks Trump body-slammed COVID-19
For one thing, it’s not clear that the president doesn’t still have the virus, since his medical team won’t say when he last tested negative. For another, if he somehow has been cured, it probably has less to do with him being a fighting champion than the experimental drug treatments, supplemental oxygen, and coterie of doctors working around the clock on his behalf.
This definitely sounds like an administration that has been chastened by its leader personally experiencing the virus that has killed over 210,000 people in the U.S.
