The Jeffrey Epstein Virgin Islands Investigation Could Unveil New Flight Logs

In 2014, Jeffrey Epstein set up a bank in the Virgin Islands, where he also had a home. The attorney general there, Denise George, has been investigating his estate, accusing its representatives of using nondisclosure agreements with Epstein’s victims and employees to shield continuing criminal conduct and saying that certain bank transactions before and after his death haven’t been explained. George’s inquiry has already extended into a previous Ghislaine Maxwell lawsuit, and on Sunday, the Daily Mirror reported that she’s now seeking flight logs for Epstein’s four helicopters and three planes from 1998 to 2019.

As the fallout from Epstein’s ring of abuse continues to unfold, his international travel has remained a subject of focus both because of the crimes he committed aboard his aircraft and the high-profile names—including Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew—that have previously turned up in flight logs. According to the Mirror, George is also seeking “complaints or reports of potentially suspicious conduct,” as well as pilots’ personal notes and contact information for anyone who worked for the pilots or “interacted with or observed” Epstein and other passengers.

The New York Post reported on Monday that George’s subpoena says that Jet Aviation Holdings USA Inc. must hand over the requested documents within 30 days of being served. It’s not known when the document was served, but the tabloid said that it is dated September 3.

George’s office hasn’t returned a request for comment from Vanity Fair.

While a number of Epstein flight logs have already been made public and pored over, including a batch that pilot David Rodgers produced in 2009, the Mirror suggested that the subpoena could result in new revelations about his associates. “The records that have been subpoenaed will make the ones Rodgers provided look like a Post-it note,” an unnamed legal source told the tabloid. “There is panic among many of the rich and famous.”
