The “Bad Blood” between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry is clearly very much a thing of the past. The pop stars once again publicly confirmed their friendship after Swift hand-embroidered a gift for Perry’s newborn daughter, Daisy Dove.
Perry posted a photo of the baby gift on her Instagram account on Sunday night, writing, “Miss 🌼🕊 adores her hand embroidered blankie from miss @taylorswift hope it’s one she drags around for years till it becomes an unrecognizable shred that she keeps in her pocket as a teenager.” The pastel pink silk blanket features hand-stitched stars, 2020, and a red flower next to the words “Baby Bloom.” Perry gave birth to her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom on August 27. She also shared gifts she received from Beyoncé, Ryan Seacrest, and Lionel Richie on social media.
While Swift and Perry haven’t always been on the best of terms—each penning hit songs about their high-profile feud—last year they officially buried the hatchet when Perry appeared in Swift’s music video for “You Need to Calm Down”, in which the two pop stars hugged while wearing hamburger and french fries costumes.
In a September 2019 interview on The Ellen Show, Perry explained that the negative portrayal of her relationship with Swift was blown out of proportion, saying, “It was actually just a misunderstanding but we have such big groups of people that like to follow us and so they kind of started turning against each other a little bit too.” In a July interview with Howard Stern, she added, “What I’m so grateful for is we did get to make up publicly and got to be an example of redemption for young girls.”
